PolyЯRon AEA

Air entraining concrete admixture

Description

PolyЯRon AEA is a specially formulated air entraining admixture used for the production of air entrained concrete. During concrete mixing PolyЯRon AEA introduces millions of uniformly sized and spaced air voids throughout the concrete mixture. Concrete containing these tiny, extremely stable air bubbles has been proven more resistant to freezing and thawing than plain concrete.

Advantages

  • Generates ultrafine stable air bubbles that are strong and evenly distributed in the concrete.
  • Increase in resistance of concrete against frost and de-icing salts.
  • Improve the plasticity and workability of the concrete.
  • Low heat of hydration during mass concrete pouring.
  • Reduces segregation and bleeding.

Application area

PolyЯRon AEA may be used wherever air entrainment is required by concrete specifications. It is particularly useful in

  • All commercial and residential concrete
  • Mass concrete
  • High cement, low slump paving mixes
  • Mixes with high carbon content fly ash
  • Concrete using high-alkali cement
  • All concrete to be exposed to freezing and thawing conditions.

Applicable standards

PolyЯRon AEA complies with ASTM C-260.

Dosage

The normal dosage is 0.05 to 0.2 litres per 100kg cement. In case if the required dosage is more than 0.2 litres per 100kg cement, consult HP Industries technical service department to customize the solution. The optimum dosage should be obtained by conducting site/laboratory trials maintaining actual variables in terms of materials and conditions.
